WHY ARE TWINKIES SO POWERFUL????

anybody have an answer for me?? cuz according to family guy the only thing that survuves a nuclear bomb are twinkies, and twinkies alst like years... i mean like Jeezuz! my buddy Jessy says that it all has to do with what theyr made of, and sumthing like; its made out of all these super strong starches and stuff which prevent them from breaking down... so when we eat them how long do they sit inour stomaches?? so many questions, so little answers... :)
